DFS Analysis – Thrive Fantasy Picks (January 29, LEC Week 2 )

By January 29, 2021No Comments

Hello Esports Department Subscribers! This year we have partnered with Thrive Fantasy to PropUp this season.

For those of you unfamiliar with what Thrive Fantasy is, it is a different version of Daily Fantasy Sports that is solely based around player props. Each prop has a designated point value to it and your goal is to score the most points by selecting five different props (players must play to count, so you cannot just select a non-starter and choose the under).

Available Props:

Recap of last week:

Last week definitely went better than the first week, however I still missed on the CoreJJ Under 2.5 kills. The C9 vs. DIG game went just as I had hoped for the two props. Blaber and Cloud 9 handled Dignitas well and as I had guessed, Aphromoo tried to make plays (or just got caught) and racked up enough deaths. CoreJJ and Team Liquid…I have nothing I really thought this was a lock and then TL 2v2’d the bot lane and CoreJJ ended up with both kills and I knew it was over.

My Picks:

This week I’m switching it up and moving on to LEC, with LCS only having solo game format I decided I would go to the European League.

Selfmade Over 2.5 Kills

My first selection of the week is Selfmade Over 2.5 Kills. As I had mentioned last week that the current meta is focused around carry junglers. With FNC as a decent favorite (-245) over Vitality, Selfmade and FNC should take care of Vitality. In the three games that FNC has played so far this year, Selfmade has played Graves twice and Hecarim, these are junglers that are going to get kills. We’re being offered 100 points on both sides of this prop, I think taking the over is the right move.

BrokenBlade Under 3.5 Kills + Deaths

This selection is a risky one that will pay off with 110 pts if we get it right. This game has the lowest projected kill total on the slate and in Schalke’s 3 games last week he would have gone under twice. I am taking the under here hoping that this game is just a slow, grind out the objectives and let your carries do the killing. There’s a chance this doesn’t work out, but I think the points upside is worth the risk.

Milica Over 1.5 Deaths

My last selection for this week is going to be taking the Over on Milica’s deaths for 95 points. As mentioned in the Selfmade blurb, I think Fnatic handles Vitality and by doing so the enemy mid laner will die at least twice. In 66% of the games from last week the losing team’s mid laner died at least twice. There aren’t a lot of props that really stick out to me on this slate as good values, so I think doubling down on FNC winning and getting at least 95 points for killing Milica twice is a decent bet.

Best of luck in your contests this week!
