Hello Esports Department Subscribers! This year we have partnered with Thrive Fantasy to PropUp this season.
For those of you unfamiliar with what Thrive Fantasy is, it is a different version of Daily Fantasy Sports that is solely based around player props. Each prop has a designated point value to it and your goal is to score the most points by selecting five different props (players must play to count, so you cannot just select a non-starter and choose the under).
Recap of last week:
The Team Liquid vs. Immortals game went about as opposite as one could have predicted. The only prop we got right was Tactical over 4.5 Kills + Deaths. Insanity got his 7th assist in the last fight which was unfortunate. In any case, this is a forward-thinking article and we are going to bounce back this week!
Jensen Under 8.5 Assists
In the 17 games that Team Liquid has played between the Lock-In tournament and Week 1 of LCS, Jensen has had more than 8.5 assist four times. In all four of those games, he has played Orianna. I do not see a ton of value in the 100+ point props, and with this one we are being offered 95 points. Team Liquid is a heavy favorite at -850, and the kill total is at 22.5, which is the lowest on the day. If Jensen isn’t on Orianna this seems like a strong selection.
Insanity Over 1.5 Kills
My next two selections are going to come from the Immortals vs. Dignitas match. This game is priced as a coinflip in the betting markets. Immortals first week as a full team was interesting, they put on a clinic against Team Liquid, followed that up with a fiesta against Golden Guardians where they lost their two nexus turrets and basically could not leave their base because of Twisted Fate + Gangplank TP. In both of those games Insanity had 2 kills. Then they got just demolished by Cloud 9, which was kind of what I expected from the Team Liquid game. This week they are facing Dignitas who is 1-2 on the season so far and not one of the stronger opponents. In all the games in NA so far mid laners are averaging 2.59 kills per game. I think in a game where it should be competitive taking a shot at Insanity having over 1.5 kills for 100 points is a good choice.
Aphromoo Over 1.5 Deaths
As stated above, my final selection would also be from this IMT vs. DIG game. Aphromoo in his games so far in 2021, has averaged 3.57 deaths per game, and over his last 50 games (albeit on different teams and setups), he has average 2.5 deaths. In the first week of LCS supports are averaging 3.07 deaths per game. I have already stated that this game should be a competitive game between two mediocre teams in the LCS. We are being offered 95 points for the support to die twice and to me that seems like a good choice.
Best of luck in your contests this week!
