Another solid for day for my 1 lineup bankroll, as I cashed in everything I entered. Avoiding S1mple at captain turned out to be a massive plus for me, as my Mezii cpt was able to straight up outscore him. I also managed to dodge huge duds from Electronic and B1t while getting what was effectively a ceiling-in-a-loss game from Perfecto.

Unfortunately, my mult-entry didn’t go so well. I made another dumb mistake. I had 6/20 lineups that had either a Big stack or Big one-off. I had 12/20 lineups that had either a Fnatic stack or Fnatic one-off. Somehow, with only 20 lineups I ended up with 0 lineups of Big + Fnatic. Honestly, this was just me rushing to make my lineups before I left the house on Saturday. I normally would’ve caught this but I just ran lineups and entered them. Regardless, it cost me a good deal as even though I only had 45% S1mple I still didn’t come anywhere close to a positive day with my multi-lineups.

1 Lineup – Entries: $20, Winnings: $47.50, New Bankroll: $134.50

Multi-Lineup – Entries: $20, Winnings: $7.50, New Bankroll: $57

On to Day 4, hopefully we can get some positive days soon for the multi-lineup strategy.

Day 4

1 Lineup – Current Bankroll: $134.50, Today’s Entries: $20

Contests: 2 $5 double ups (16 entrants each), 1 $5 Triple up (20 entrants), 1 $5 Single Entry GPP (95 entrants)

My Lineup:

I expect S1mple and Navi to come out angry, and pricing is loose enough to where I think he fits well at captain on this slate. The Fnatic 3 stack is definitely a bit of a risk as they’re “underdogs” but I again think it should be a straight up coinflip, and Alex is basically free/a punt anyways. I feel good about the other 5 players in my lineup.

Multi-Lineup – Current Bankroll: $57.50, Today’s Entries: $20

Contest: 20 entries in $1 GPP (20 entry max, 1189 total entries)

Here’s how I’m building on Sunday:

3 Stacks
Team % of Lineups (Number of lineups)
Navi 25% (5)
Faze 10% (2)
FNC 20% (4)
Mouz 20% (4)
Big 20% (4)
EG 5% (1)

2 Stacks
Team % of Lineups (Number of lineups)
Navi 25% (5)
Faze 20% (4)
FNC 15% (3)
Mouz 20% (4)
Big 20% (4)
EG 0% (0)

While I’m definitely starting to feel a bit of pressure to have a good day, I think it’s important whenever you go in a “slump” (not that I really consider 3 days a slump, but it’s a rough start to the challenge) as a GPP player it’s important to be able to recognize if you need to fix something in your approach or if it’s just been bad luck. For me, I’ve made stupid mistakes on 2/3 days so far, and I know my approach has made me a winner long-term outside of the challenge, so I’m just going to make sure I don’t have any dumb mistakes on Monday. No need to try to make drastic changes or overhauls to what I’m doing.

Anyways, I don’t think I’m doing anything too crazy on this slate. What the stacks don’t capture is that I do have 18/20 S1mple lineups including one-offs. I think the 19% implied odds EG has are too generous honestly, so I land the right combo around S1mple instead of trying to fade him and pray he doesn’t slaughter EG.

Let’s hope to continue the success of the single lineup and turn the train around for multi-lineup on Day 4!
